Are you passionate about Downtown Morehead City? Consider joining one of our committees! We are always looking for individuals that are interested in supporting our local community to attend and engage in our once a month, hour long meetings.
Want to join our Board? Interested participants must serve on a committee for one year prior to application. The Board of Directors serve a voluntary, three-year staggered term and commit to attending monthly Board meetings (Third Tuesday @ 9:00am), and also serve on one of the committees detailed below.
Board members are actively involved in the organization and are expected to attend events, assist with committee tasks and projects, and champion & promote Downtown Morehead City. In return, you will be an integral and valuable participant involved in the positive growth and development of our downtown district, as well as recognized for making a difference by reinvigorating the heart of our community and shaping downtown Morehead City into a better place for all!
DESIGN
Capitalize on the best assets. Create a sense of pride with an inviting atmosphere by partnering with the town on projects and offering matching façade grants. Educate about design, provide design advice, guide future growth, and motivate change.

ECONOMIC VITALITY
Help strengthen the downtown economy by retaining the current activity as well as recruit new commercial businesses. Identify new market opportunities and fill the gaps. Find new uses for historic commercial buildings and stimulate investment in property. Convert unused space into productive property.

PROMOTION
Market downtown's unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors. Create a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events and marketing campaigns. Promote downtown as the center of commerce, culture, and community life.
