ADOPT A BLOCK
The Adopt-a-Block program engages groups of volunteers to “adopt” a public space and make an annual commitment to regularly clean and beautify our streets and blocks. Typical areas include frequently trafficked streets, high-density commercial blocks, storm drains, retention ponds, and problem-area medians/curbs/sidewalks.
Generally, we ask that volunteers assist us in disposing of trash and litter, moving/relocating small to medium sized debris, notifying us of large trash items that need professional attention, and other general upkeep.
We're glad that you're interested in helping us keep Downtown Morehead City clean and beautiful!
Since 2021, the Town of Morehead City has facilitated this city-wide Adopt-a-Block Program to help keep the charming streets of our town litter-free. Downtown Morehead City, Inc. is excited to now take ownership of this program throughout the downtown district so that our waterfront community is kept clean and beautiful year-round.
By adopting a downtown block, you can help us maintain our attractive sidewalks, parks, and roadways for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. We encourage you to learn more about the program, and reach out if you are interested in getting involved!
