ALIVE AT FIVE is a free concert series during summer in Downtown Morehead City!

Concerts take place at Jaycee Park at 807 Shepard Street, 5-8 pm. The park is located between the Bask Hotel and the waterfront. Public restrooms are available on site, with handicap ramp access.

Bring your own blankets and chairs. Beverage concession available. No coolers or outside beverages permitted.

3-250 HP motors on a boat

The 13th Annual 2020 Crystal Coast Boat Show, will be held on the Downtown Morehead City waterfront May 16 and 17, 2020.  It features both new and used boats, in-water and on land. The Crystal Coast Boat Show showcases a variety of marine products and services, outdoor gear, fishing tackle, outfitters, brokers and resource conservation groups. The boat show is free and open to the public.

Join us for scheduled events or just a magical time in our area as our stores and local establishments decorate their windows and welcome visitors and locals alike. From Small Business Saturday where you can shop local to the crab pot drop on New Year's Eve to everything in between, you and your family can enjoy all that downtown has to offer.


Saturday after Thanksgiving

Support local businesses and artists for Small Business Saturday and the Art Walk, sponsored by the Carteret County Arts Council. Check off items on your holiday shopping list while you view artwork at various downtown locations.  Art Walk maps available at participating locations.  The Arts Council of Carteret County will be selling original painted mini canvases at Arts & Things for $10 each.  A great gift for all!  SHOP LOCAL!


First Saturday in December  - Ticketed Event

Stroll downtown Morehead City and enjoy samples of Chowder or Cheer from participating establishments. Chowder & Cheer is organized by Dowtown Morehead City, Inc. as part of our annual Christmas in Downtown Celebration.

First Saturday in December

Breakfast with Santa is a popular annual event hosted by Floyd's 1921.  Three seatings available, 8:30am, 9:30am and 10:30am.  Contact Floyd's for reservations.


First Saturday in December - 5:30 pm

The Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla features boats, yachts, oars, kayaks and commercial vessels decorated for the season. The decorated boats can be seen at 5:30 p.m. on the Morehead City waterfront. All decorated boats are judged and prizes for excellence and creativity are awarded. Entry fee to participate. 252.728.7317. North Carolina Maritime Museum.

Join us at 5pm at Jaycee Park as Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with the children and Salvation Army will be selling hot chocolate. There will even be a face painter for the kids!


Second Saturday in December - 11am

Come join the fun! Parade starts at 11 a.m. along Arendell Street in downtown Morehead City. Parade begins at 17th and ends at 4th Street . Floats, community groups, bands, entertainment and, of course, Santa and his sleigh will be featured.

December 31 - 6 pm & Midnight

Join Downtown Morehead City, Inc. at "Downtown Countdown" for fireworks and fun as we ring in the New Year in downtown Morehead City!

Enjoy a kids’ crab pot drop with the Morehead City Fire Department at Big Rock Landing at 6pm. At midnight we will be counting down and dropping the traditional crab pot drop, which celebrates the area’s notable seafood industry and culture.  The evening will culminate with a midnight crab pot drop and vibrant firework display from Sugarloaf Island, located just off of the downtown Morehead City docks.

Downtown Countdown is FREE and open to the public.  In addition to “Downtown Countdown” scheduled events, downtown Morehead City bars, restaurants and attractions will host specials and live entertainment.
