Support local businesses and artists for Small Business Saturday and the Art Walk, sponsored by the Carteret County Arts Council. Check off items on your holiday shopping list while you view artwork at various downtown locations.  Art Walk maps available at participating locations including Arts and Things, Gypsybee Studio, Carteret Contemporary Art, Red Arrow Studio/Jimmy Craig Womble, Seabling Jewelry, Inkspiration Studio & Carolina Artist Gallery.  The Arts Council of Carteret County will be selling original painted mini canvases at Arts & Things for $10 each.  A great gift for all!  SHOP LOCAL!



Saturday, December 1, 2018 - 1-5pm - Ticketed Event

Ticket pre-sales will be Tuesday, October 30 & Wednesday, October 31 from 9am - 2pm at the Morehead City Train Depot, 1001 Arendell Street.  Online sales of remaining tickets on Eventbrite starting Wednesday, October 31 at 2pm. Tickets are $25 each. No phone orders.

Stroll downtown Morehead City and enjoy samples of Chowder or Cheer from participating establishments. Chowder & Cheer is organized by Dowtown Morehead City, Inc. as part of our annual Christmas in Downtown Celebration.

Breakfast with Santa is a popular annual event hosted by Floyd's 1921.  Three seatings available, 8:30am, 9:30am and 10:30am.  Contact Floyd's for reservations.  Due to Hurricane Florence damage, the location is TBD, Floyd's 1921 or The History Museum of Carteret County.  Location will be announced closer to the event.

The Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla features boats, yachts, oars, kayaks and commercial vessels decorated for the season. The decorated boats can be seen at 5:30 p.m. on the Morehead City waterfront. All decorated boats are judged and prizes for excellence and creativity are awarded. Entry fee to participate. 252.728.7317. North Carolina Maritime Museum.


Saturday, December 1, 2018 - 6pm

Stay after Breakfast with Santa, Chowder & Cheer, the Flotilla and celebrate the holidays with the lighting of the downtown Morehead City Christmas Tree, located in Jaycee Park, 807 Shepard Street. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with the children and Salvation Army will be selling hot chocolate.

Following the tree lighting, we encourage you to stay downtown to enjoy music and dinner at our many downtown Morehead City restaurants and establishments.


Saturday, December 8, 2018 - 11am

Come join the fun! Parade starts at 11 a.m. along Arendell Street in downtown Morehead City. Parade begins at 17th and ends at 4th . Floats, community groups, bands, entertainment and, of course, Santa and his sleigh will be featured.

Monday, December 31, 2018 - 6pm & Midnight

Join Downtown Morehead City, Inc. at "Downtown Countdown" for fireworks and fun as we ring in the New Year in downtown Morehead City!

Enjoy a kids’ crab pot drop with the Morehead City Fire Department at Big Rock Landing at 6pm. At midnight we will be counting down and dropping the traditional crab pot drop, which celebrates the area’s notable seafood industry and culture.  The evening will culminate with a vibrant firework display from Sugarloaf Island, located just off of the downtown Morehead City docks.

Downtown Countdown is FREE and open to the public.  In addition to “Downtown Countdown” scheduled events, downtown Morehead City bars, restaurants and attractions will host specials and live entertainment.


ALIVE AT FIVE is a free concert series the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month during summer in Downtown Morehead City, NC.

Concerts take place at Jaycee Park at 807 Shepard Street, 5-8 pm. The park is located between the Bask Hotel and the waterfront. Free public restrooms are available on site, with handicap ramp access.

Bring your own blankets and chairs. Beverage concession available. No coolers or outside beverages permitted.

3-250 HP motors on a boat

The 11th Annual 2018 Crystal Coast Boat Show, was held on the Downtown Morehead City waterfront May 19 and 20, 2018 and featured both new and used boats, in-water and on land. Boat Show showcased a variety of marine products and services, outdoor gear, fishing tackle, outfitters, brokers and resource conservation groups. The boat show is free and open to the public.

Thanks to all of our vendors, sponsors and partners who made the 2018 Crystal Coast Boat Show a huge success! We look forward to seeing you for the 2019 show!
